Dark Of Days (Accurate AC-5052)

Stopline
Monique and the group gained success through tireless gigging, and soon ventured into the studio to record their debut album Stopline. During those sessions Monique developed her unique sound: percussive and slidey, at times Arabic-sounding bass grooves, teamed with her striking, androgynous contralto vocals. Her lyrics are cinematic, and at times unsettling; always strangely beautiful, fostering comparisons to a variety of artists, from Nina Simone to Patti Smith, Jim Morrison to Jeff Buckley.
